We are Pleased to announce The Air Cushion Technology Alliance

In May of 2003, the promising field of air cushion technology took a large step forward with the formation of the The Air Cushion Technology Alliance:  and alliance between three companies dedicated to advancing that technology.  These three firms are:

Aeromobile Inc. (www.aeromobile.com) in Illinois .  This firm was founded and is still guided by Dr. William Bertelsen, long term transportation pioneer and visionary, who was named in 2002 the inventor of the air cushion vehicle (ACV). His greatest contribution to air cushion technology is his Gimbal Fan invention.

The Air Cushion Technology Centre (www.rushstar.com/ACTC) on Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is owned by Hamed Rushwan the founder of RushStar Corporation, an accomplished inventor and long term air cushion Researcher. This Centre has become expert at testing the performance and efficiency of air cushion vehicles, and has developed technologies to improve ACVs.

Gimbal Craft (www.gimbalcraft.com) of Iowa and New York. Owned by William Kirby, this company is dedicated to commercializing the air cushion inventions that Dr. William Bertelsen of Aeromobile Inc. has developed. They have contacts throughout North America, Europe and the rest of  the world, to market, promote and sell any products created by this new alliance.

The initial goals of The Air Cushion Technology Alliance are:

    1) To take the Gimbal Fan invention of Dr. Bertelsen and create amphibious air cushion craft that are exceptionally controllable, move at high speed, have low wake and low noise level and  can be used in all weather conditions,  including ice and snow. Gimbal Craft’s marketing research has already shown such craft are in demand by professional organizations such as search and rescue, wetland scientists, oil companies, and coastal and river patrols, and also by recreational users.

    2) To complete another of Dr. Bertelsen’s inventions - the Air Track and to make commercial products from it. The Air Track is a crawler that puts very low pressure on the surface, while at the same time supporting great weight. A vehicle that uses this crawler is an ideal all terrain vehicle, capable of climbing 45 degree inclines, going on water at fast speeds,  handling all land conditions, while impacting the surface environment minimally.

    3) To blend the Gimbal Craft and Air Track devices to create a hybrid craft:  it would utilize both the Gimbal Fan technology and the Air Track technology.  It would have all the advantages of the Gimbal Craft, but also be capable of climbing steep inclines and passing over rough or porous surfaces. It would be a craft that could excel under any condition. This idea for this hybrid craft originated with Hamed Rushwan, the owner of The Air Cushion Technology Centre.

The members of the The Air Cushion Technology Alliance have been in communication for a  number of years, and now will collaborate directly together.  Over time, once the initial goals listed above have been met, the alliance will work to develop a number of other forms of air cushion technology and bring them to commercial realization as well.
